|
|
i have within the last 3 days deleted some old Java releases and/or updates but not much else.
Now when i click on the "chat" button nothing happens at all... whereas just last week i had no problems entering any of the chat rooms.
Thank You in advance for any assistance.

Unfortunately, I would say it's a foregone conclusion that the missing flash/java/whatever fixes are what's causing this.
Let's face it; Flash is a necessary evil for just about any webpage these days. I hate it with the heat of 1,000 novas, myself but there isn't another option.
The only alternative I can suggest is using Firefox or Chrome as a browser. The site does not work as it should for me, when I use IE so, maybe that is the problem for you, as well?
Peace and comfort,

Nothing has changed with the chat program over the past couple days. There is no Java involved with the chat either. The chat program itself runs using Adobe Flash. The popup window is done using javascript (a different scripting than Java).
I would first check if your adobe flash is working. Do a search on google for installing and you will see the result on the download page.
Second, try clearing all your Flash cache here:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html
Also, what browser are you using. If I remember correctly, Adobe Flash does not work in the 64 bit IE. However, it does work on the 32 bit IE, which usually comes with 64 bit machines too. _________________ SiteAdmin |

I've been having trouble accessing from my iPhone at times it tells me BANNED IP... I wait and refresh and it usually corrects itself. Any ideas? This is recent about a month or so.

Sounds like one of the ips used by your service provider is banned. Waiting refreshes the ip on your phone so you are then able to connect. _________________ SiteAdmin |

Next time it happens, surf over to ip-lookup.net and send me the ip in a message. Perhaps I can remove it. _________________ SiteAdmin |
