When I try to view my own profile (pollywog) it takes me to the page with the polls. I cannot even see how others see me. Or can they even see me??? -p

Hmmmm...
I'm thinking the rewrite rules for URLs is not liking your name. It is probably seeing Poll and thinking it needs to go to the polls.
Temporarily, I would suggest changing your username until I can figure out the solution.
Yes, your name is clashing with the url rewrite. You are going to have to change your name.

a change suggestion of po11ywog might work. Still reads the same, just the characters are different.

Thank you for such speedy replies, Pollywog is now Polywog... may be more appropriate anyway ...
