ID, Phantom helped me with my profile and I could not view it till I abandoned Google Chrome and opened IE. All good, except that I despise IE, but okay........(I did love love love Chrome but o well....).
Now IE won't let me upload any images. Says my "pop up blocker" needs to be disabled for MDS, but I have turned the stupid thing completely OFF and still no joy.
SA also told me, no MDS IMs without IE, so okay, I give in. Is there anyway to collapse that horrible 1/3 screen size top part of IE? Yanno, the Gazillion buttons, etc.? I need to see, oddly enough, and I miss having a full screen.
Thankies dahlin' man. No rush...I can cope for now. _________________ Guest

Hm. I run MDS on Firefox without a problem. I loathe IE so I'm with you on that. As far as making the top portion smaller...
*mumbles something horrible under my breath while I go open IE*
Go to "Tools" then "Toolbars" and uncheck the toolbars you don't want to see. _________________ drusilla |

I didn't say that. As a matter of fact, IE is the worst thing you can use for the IM feature. The IM is still using Userplane, and many people using IE complained of getting viruses from the adverts. _________________ SiteAdmin |

SA, I fear Foxfire. I have tried various times over the years to use it, install bookmarks blah blah blah -- and it never lasted a week for me without imploding.
But now I have this whiz-bang new pc, and so mebbe my ancient one was the reason? It did have a teeny-weeny CP, etc.
Ah will download any browser you tell me to. Thank GOD it most likely will not be IE. Ah am a very submissive MDS tech person, Ah swear.

Mozilla Firefox has worked wonders for me for years, I have never had an issue with any feature on MDS, and most other sites. _________________ lylac |

Folks, I do appreciate the advice and I know Firefox has rabid suporters. Obviously since I've never been able to use it long I have no clue why, but I accept that it must have better features.
I love Chrome because it is so clean, so (apparently) idijit-proof. I do not need to raise the dead with my browser...just getting here and there on the 'net is fine by me.
Still, I waiting hear which browser gives SA the least amount of heartburn...I feel sorta badly about misquoting him, and need to know I am outta the doghouse.

I could see your profile just fine. Although people posting comments made the screen a bit wide, it was still viewable in Chrome. If you want to change that, there is a code in the code help thread that can help manage that for you. It doesn't work with you tube very well, but for those annoying pictures people post it works very well.
I've used Firefox for years, and abandoned it after it had some memory loss problems that gave me some trouble. I use Chrome for everything except the sites that demand IE, and those are so few I've only opened IE once in about 3 months.
Another thing I like Chrome for is it's a bit obscure still. So hackers don't try as hard to write viruses and maleware that take advantage of it's security flaws. No browser or Operating system is completely secure or safe from hackers, but the less popular it is, the less likely you are to run into a site that is geared to take advantage of it's flaws. _________________ Guest |

*Ponders*
Well lemme go look-see for myself then, ID.
Damn...I can see it too. Now that's odd...twas all messed up yesterday. O well, as long as eveything is good. Mebbe you just have to wait a bit before it actually changes? 24 hours or whatnot?
Did you like the new profile ID? Phantom taught me how to use a background image...I'm proud of my web design skills, though I am sure they're the equivalent of drawing with crayons, he he.
I plan to continue using Chrome unless it stresses MDS....I can live without the MDS Instant Messenger because frankly, I hate IMs unless I have an appointment for one. I just do not like any sort of pop-in.
You guys that replied: thankies and MMuuuuaaah.
